Welcome
to the Artist’s Studio!
Yes, there are lots of paintings in my studio, here on South
Robertson Blvd. in Los Angeles. I thought you might like to
see them as they hang in groups on my studio walls, as well
as individually. To view the larger pieces in Gallery settings,
click on the different photos in the “Exhibitions”
section of the Site.
My small paintings are ways to explore ideas quickly; many
are planned as or later turn out to be, studies for the large
paintings. For example, the recent small paintings of scenes
showing Moses, are studies for the” Shemot” mural-on-
canvas, which is “In Progress”. Click on that
section of the Site to view details of this huge project,
then return to the Site in the weeks and months ahead to view
the continued progress, and you’ll see that the colored
scenes have been imagined in advance. Also, the small scenes
of life in Jerusalem from my visit in the Summer of 2000,
became the images which fill the circle in “Geulah.”
The “Batya” series of small paintings takes the
viewer through the various phases of Shabbat preparation and
celebration, in the home and in the Bet Knesset, of my beloved
Sephardic friends the Elyassi family; during the year before
Nava Tehilla arrived. There are also scenes of the Elyassi
family and Kehillat HaShalom, Blessing the Trees after the
first of Nissan. Other subjects of small paintings are scenes
of Young Israel of Beverly Hills, and paintings about the
three “Epic” journeys I took across the country
in my Camry last year. Subjects I have not mentioned- are
imaginary!
Please
see the most recently completed work in the “New Paintings” section: “The
Prayer of Hannah”, “At Last”, and “the Mighty Hand of Hashem.”
Enjoy
your On-Line visit to my studio! Serious collectors can
contact me via e-mail; there’s a response form for
that purpose on the Site.
Thanks for stopping by- All the Best,
